Nicola's work often operates across the indistinct boundary areas between disciplines. In the weatherproject volunteers collect weather samples in a pseudo-scientific manner, but the contents of the collection jars are never analysed.

In the threshold exhibition, over 200 samples are gathered together and presented alongside some of the documentary evidence provided by the volunteers.

Nicola was initially trained in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and is particularly interested in investigating the ways in which art and science reciprocate.
